This was our first visit and it did not disappoint. By far, the best I've had in Boerne. The Chicken Lettuce Wraps were fresh. The House Special Soup was very comforting. My wife loved the Sweet and Sour Chicken. The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly. We saw a few regular customers that came in. You could tell because they were greeted like family when they came in. Our waitress was a very sweet lady. We'll be back soon.

My favorite Chinese food in Boerne If you haven't tried the lo mein, it's the best on the menu

I love this place. It's reliably good Chinese take-out. The General Tso chicken and Mongolian beef are great options. My vegetarian wife loves the veggie fried rice and lo mein. They do spice the fried rice very well, consider getting that instead of white rice for your side.

Excellent food. Only piece of advice would be to improve your fried rice, it doesn't have much flavor at all.

Shang Hai is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant and has been for years! I never need to look at the menu when I arrive as I always order the Sesame Chicken, wonton soup and fried rice. So many restaurants have soup with zero flavor - not the case here! I could eat this soup every single day, especially with the crispy wontons! The chicken is always fresh and tender and the broccoli is a great addition. Staff are friendly and there's never a long wait. Restaurant style is somewhat outdated, however the food is so worth it.

This is your home-town, family owned Chinese restaurant with a vast menu of choices. I apologize that I did not get photos of our food, which, each portion was enough to feed two, or take some home to have for lunch the next day. The servers are very friendly, and welcoming upon choosing your own table. I ordered the chicken sesame, and we also had the general tso's chicken. Both were very wonderful, the breading on the chicken was light and crispy. The sauces were delicious and a perfect consistency. Fresh cut broccoli was served on the side, along with a choice of white or fried rice. No complaints, just kudos! Plus, the chicken was quality white meat! Home made, hot, and fresh! Will visit again!

Friendly service, good food, decent prices. What's more to like? With the economy being what it is (thanks Joe F$%ing Biden) good value is more important than ever. The folks at Shang Hai are really special. The food is always, fresh, delicious and piping hot. The staff is always pleasant, helpful and polite. We eat lunch here often- when we're in the "big city"- and it's always crowded. We've never been disappointed. These little gems are disappearing from America- being replaced with "Panda Express" and the like. Stop in and enjoy a nice meal. You go there once and you'll keep coming back. P.S. They give a generous military discount as a thank you for your service !!
